  • The EFnet IRC channel #Linux

#Linux is the result of years of finely crafted slacking, the labors of many a bored geek. We hope it brings you as much joy as it has us.

Insofar as EFnet (or IRC in general) is not utter anarchy, #Linux has grown up around a small group of "regulars", some of which have taken up the job of managing it. Some of them are here.

We are unpaid volunteers who believe in the power and flexibility of the Linux operating system. We try to help everyone, but alas, we can't. Please make an effort to exhaust all other avenues of research before asking your questions in #Linux. There's a ton of documentation, both on your machine, and on the web. Make use of them, and web search engines please.

Linfo is our friendly bot. He can answer quite a few of your questions already and learns more each day.
